reflections
This year I've learned mucho. Muchisimo de los seminarios. I'm going to miss going to the new teacher induction programs next year. I really enjoyed the different activities we've done here they were fun. It also gave me a chance to share and learn form other teachers, discuss teaching methods, and think about why I even became a teacher in the first place. I've used different cooperative learning methods and have had a lot of fun incorporatng different games. I used much more technology in the classroom this year, this has made me more organized and professional.

From: Student
To: All teachers:
I'm writing to you today to request that teachers utilize cooperative learning strategies in the classroom at all times. I think that if students are given the oppurtunity to work together during class on not only projects, but during classwork, tests and homework, students will learn the invaluable lesson of working together. When students work together, students clearly learn from each other. Some of the skills achieved during these cooperative learning activities are: positive interdpendence, face-to-face promotive interation, Individual and group accountability, interpersonal and small group skills, and group processing skills. If you had taken the time to read "Classroom Instruction that Works", you would surely realize that Kegan has proved that students need to cooperatively learn from each other in order to succeed in life.

Graphic Organizer Lasson Plan
Spanish I
Objective: SWBAT: Classify the Vocabulary list into two or three categories: Necesitar, Querer and Tener. (needs, wants and haves).
Procedure: 1. Review the vocabulary and categories. 2. Give students some different examples. 3. Divide students into groups a four people. 4. Have students take turns and choose from a graphic organizer. 5. After it is completed students will present it to the class.
Activity: Graphic Organizer
Activity II: Present it to the class.
Activity III: Students will create a few analogies and share with the class.
Assessment:The objectives of the lesson were to categorize the Ch.2 vocabulary into three categories: Wants, needs and haves and to also combine these categories. The strategy used was "Classification". The lesson was both teacher and student directed, some students needed help with placing the item in the right category, of course it was mostly an opinion. We mostly used the Venn diagram. Some used the "column" organizer. Though the purpose was to categorize items, more importantly they practiced the vocabulary list. This method helped students visualize the vocabulary as they drew pictures next to the words. Therefore the lesson was a success. This strategy is good for vocabulary list, the only thing I would change is that they also use complete sentences at the bottom of the organizer to get students to think at higher levels.
